Those lucky enough to be on the prolonged booze cruise that is Päischtcroisière have been entertained by Australian-born, Irish singer Johnny Logan
Viviane Conter has secured an exclusive interview with the Irish singer/songwriter Johnny Logan for RTL Today.
The interview took place yesterday evening on the “MSC Fantasia” where the “Päischtcroisiere”, with some 1,000 tourists from Luxembourg aboard, takes place.
Fame came fast for Logan, it went just as quickly too with the singer finding himself living in a dingy flat with five students just months after his first Eurovision win.
'What's Another Year' was Logan's winning entry in 1981 but some ill-timed legal issues between management and record companies contributed to his career imploding almost immediately.
As with many rags to riches tales, Logan was encouraged to invest in property as the cash was due to come flooding in. It didn't and Logan was soon in terrible debt.
"My career was sunk," he said. "I was left very alone and I couldn't really handle it. I found I lost a huge amount of weight. It was so traumatic that it left me shell-shocked," he told the Irish Independent in an interview in 2016.
That being said, the years he spent uncertain if his career would get back in track resulted in 'Hold Me Now' which he sang at Eurovision in 1987 and won for the second time.
He also wrote Linda Martin's winning 1992 Eurovision hit 'Why Me?'.
Here are some wise words from the two-time Eurovision winner.
And, for those of you who want a taste of the atmosphere, here you go.
