Eligibility & Participation Rules for Singer(s)/Performing Artist(s)/Band(s)

To be eligible, a Performing Artist must:

have reached the age of 18 by 15 January 2027;
satisfy at least one Luxembourgish-link criterion: hold Luxembourgish nationality; or have resided in Luxembourg for at least three consecutive years; or demonstrate strong cultural involvement and a proven connection and track record with the Luxembourgish music scene (active national engagement in musical practice and regular collaboration with recognised cultural institutions, festivals and actors in Luxembourg);
be able to sing live and feel comfortable performing on a large stage;
be fully available from October 2026 to May 2027 for auditions, rehearsals, photo shoots, coaching, promotional activities, interviews and TV shows, in Luxembourg and across Europe.

Each Song must comply with the following requirements:

be of a maximum duration of three (3) minutes;
be original and not have been commercially released or publicly performed, in full or in part, before 1 September 2026, in accordance with the EBU Rules;
be performed by a maximum of six (6) people on stage, including dancers and backing singers;
the song must include live vocals and have its lead vocals performed live on stage; recorded backing vocals are permitted only within the limits set by the EBU Rules;
contain lyrics that are not political, racist, offensive, discriminatory, defamatory or otherwise harmful to the reputation of RTL, Luxembourg, the EBU, the competition or other participants. Lyrics may further not violate any applicable law. RTL and/or the EBU may exclude a Song with non-compliant lyrics at their discretion;
there is no restriction on the language of the Song, which may be performed in any language, including Luxembourgish.
