The Grand Duchy's final Eurovision Song Contest winner had this belter to win out in Munich.
"Si la vie est cadeau" ("If Life Is a Gift") by Jean-Pierre Millers (music) and Alain Garcia (lyrics), was the winner of the Eurovision Song Contest 1983, performed in French by French singer Corinne Hermès for Luxembourg.
Corinne Hermès (née Corinne Miller) is a Parisian songstress who took the prize despite the bookies favouring Sweden's entry.
Last to perform on the night, Hermès was also to be the Grand Duchy's last representative to win the award (Luxembourg has 5, YES FIVE wins to date) and only two other countries have won more.
'Si la vie est cadeau' was slow to pick up votes as judges begun their tallies but eventually secured scores from 19 of the 20 juries.
The article is based on an original post by eurovisionireland.net who had this to say about our fair lands: "Remember Luxembourg? They used to take part in our favourite TV show. And they used to win. Not bad for a nugget of a country with a Grand Duke in charge."
