On Tuesday, the pop singer's management confirmed he passed away in Milan following a long period of illness.
Best known for his 1983 hit "L'Italiano", Cutugno went on to win the Eurovision Song Contest in 1990 with the song "Insieme 1992".
His health had deteriorated in the months leading up to his death, according to a statement by his manager on Tuesday.
