In the final round of candidate appearances on Luxembourg's Green Room, Eurovision hopefuls Krick and Tali spoke with host Chrissi about their musical backgrounds, favourite gigs and bucket list items, ahead of next week's Luxembourg Song Contest.
Christine Heitz, known as 'Krick,' balances a career as a 26-year-old nurse with her passion for music. She founded the cover band The Daydreamer in 2014, showcasing her talent with the Northern Big Band in a series of successful concerts the same year. After participating in The Voice of Germany 2017, where she made it to the sing-offs, Krick released her debut single Fake Cake in 2018.

Meanwhile, Tali Golergant is a 23-year-old singer who grew up in Luxembourg but is now primarily based in New York, where she leads her own music group. She showcased her songwriting prowess by penning her debut single at just 16 years old.

In the podcast, the two contestants discussed their families' musical backgrounds. "My whole family plays instruments," said Krick. She grew up surrounded by music: "My mum always said that I sang before I could talk." Krick first started learning the clarinet, but soon moved on to guitar and piano. "Sorry to those who play clarinet, but I think it's the worst instrument in the whole world," she joked.
It's a similar story for Tali. For her, there are two kinds of families: "There's the music family, where everyone plays music, and there's the sports family." No prizes for guessing which one she belonged to - Tali said that "every person plays an instrument" in her family. "Music was always part of my dream," she said, but she wasn't always sure exactly what she would become. She initially wanted to be a classical pianist, but later studied musical theatre in New York, and she is now a music teacher who performs on the side.
Speaking of performances, Chrissi asked the two contestants about their favourite concerts. For Tali, the choice was easy: a gig at the prestigious Mercury Lounge in Manhattan, a small venue where the likes of Lady Gaga have cut their teeth.
Krick, on the other hand, said that she doesn't have a favourite, but there is no question as to her biggest - performing on the German edition of The Voice in 2017. "I think I loved it, but I can't remember," she admitted, discussing the rush of adrenaline she experienced at the time.
What about their bucket list items? Tali said she makes one every year, and in 2024 she's mostly focusing on the simple things. That said, she did name two dreams: visiting Costa Rica and releasing an album, which, she said, is in the works: "I'm very excited!"
In contrast, Krick doesn't believe in the concept: "I need to live more in the moment... a bucket list would not be good for my head," she said. For her, it's better to focus on being happy. And a Eurovision win would certainly help with that!
Tune in to the full podcast to hear more about horror films, why Krick is a Gryffindor, why Tali recently Googled herself ("not because I'm a narcissist - don't come at me!'') and plenty more.
