Missed out on Saturday night's action at the Rockhal? Never fear, you can catch up with all the fun and entertainment right here.
In an unforgettable evening at the Rockhal, Tali Golergant was crowned winner of the Luxembourg Song Contest. The 23-year-old will be heading to Malmö in May to represent the Grand Duchy as it returns to Eurovision after a 30-year absence.
Presenting team Désirée Nosbusch, Melody Funck, Raoul Roos and Loïc Juchem accompanied their Luxembourgish and international audience through 2.5 hours of musical entertainment on this historic evening for Luxembourg. Surprise performances throughout the evening included reappearances from previous Luxembourg winners Vicky Leandros and Anne-Marie David, as well as performances from 2009 winner Alexander Rybak, and Luxembourg folk favourites Shëppe Siwen.
But the real focus of the night was on the eight artists selected in the first stages of Luxembourg's Song Contest. TALI, Edsun, Krick, CHAiLD, Joël Marques, Naomi Ayé, Angy and Rafa Ela, and One Last Time gave it their all on stage, but there could only be one winner.
"I'm in another world," declared Tali's mother Shirley as she waited to congratulate her daughter after the results were announced. The International School graduate not only won over the professional jury, but also the public, scooping 178 points ahead of second-placed Krick (165) and Joël Marques in third (136).
A breathless Tali told reporters she had no words to describe her victory, but she knew her life was about to change. Embodying a new generation of singers, giving Luxembourg hope at Eurovision after three decades, she is certainly right.
