The semi-finals for Eurovision Song Contest 2024 will take place on 7 and 9 May, with Luxembourg's Tali performing last out of the 15 acts!

Each semi-final will see 15 countries competing for a spot at the Song Contest on 11 May, but just ten countries will be selected as finalists! Last year, the jury vote was abolished for the first time, meaning that the final acts will all be chosen by the public. The jury will only be consulted if there is no overall consensus reached by the public vote.
The so-called Big Five - Italy, Spain, France, Germany and the United Kingdom - automatically qualify for the final.

Luxembourg's Tali will be performing last with her song "Fighter", as she hopes to secure enough votes to take her through to the big night on 11 May.

Other acts performing in the first semi-final:

Ireland- Bambie Thug

Bambie Thug was selected from six participants by an international and national jury, as well as the public, to represent Ireland with "Doomsday Blue", described as 'ouija pop'.

Croatia - Baby Lasagna

Marko Purišić, better known by his stage name Baby Lasagna, beat off 15 other acts at the Dora Festival to appear at Eurovision. The song "Rim Tim Tagi Dim" presents the struggles for young Croats in a humorous manner.

Lithuania - Silvester Belt

Electro-pop anthem "Luktelk", sung in Lithuanian by contestant Silvester Belt, has achieved success in the national charts, but will it be enough to please the Eurovision public?

Poland - Luna

Warsaw native Aleksandra Katarzyna Wielgomas, 24, was selected through an internal competition to represent Poland. Her song "The Tower" is about developing strength and becoming responsible for one's own future.

Serbia - Teya Dora

"Ramonda" is a ballad dedicated to the flower symbolising peace, with links to Armistice Day on 11 November.  It is a flower that can grow from ashes and therefore represents hope.

Ukraine - Alyona Alyona & Jerry Heil

17-year-old Silia Kapsis, selected through an internal process, lives in Australia but has Greek Cypriot origins. Her entry for the competition is called "Liar".

Australia - Electric Fields

"One Milkali" means "one blood" in Yankunytjatjara,  a language spoken by different Aboriginal tribes. Electric Fields' Zaachariaha Fielding and Michael Ross seek to connect modern electric soul music with native Australian culture.

Azerbaijan - Fahree feat. Ilkin Dovatlov

"Özünlə Apar" ass dat leschte Lidd, dat fir den ESC 2024 publizéiert gouf. Den Titel heescht esou vill wéi "Huel et mat". D'Lidd ass deels op englesch, deels op aserbaidschanesch. Iceland - Hera Björk

Hera Björk is no stranger to Eurovision - she represented the country in 2010 with her song "Je ne sais quoi", finishing 14th. She has also appeared as a backing vocalist twice. This year, she hopes to achieve better results with her song "Scared of Heights".

Moldavia - Natalia Barbu

Another familiar face at the ESC, Natalia Barbu finished in 10th place back in 2007. This year she is reusing her signature instrument, the violin, for her entry "In the Middle".

Portugal - Iolanda Costa

Iolanda Costa is representing Portugal with "Grito". She released her first album in 2023 and is known within her home country for her appearances on numerous reality talent shows, such as The Voice of Portugal in 2014.

Last but not least, "Fighter" will be a familiar tune to many in the Grand Duchy by now!
