Luxembourg's Eurovision comeback star Tali joins a host of performers at this year's European Culture Award Gala, to be held at Luxembourg's Philharmonie on 7 June.
This year's event focuses on female power, highlighting musical contributors such as Mexican conductor Alondra de la Parra, and the Vienna Girls' Choir, appearing at the gala for the first time. Among the prominent guests on the night is Grand Duchess Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, German songstress Jeanette Biedermann, singer-songwriter Adel Tawil, as well as a host of stars from the classical music world.
The night will feature a number of performances blending classical and modern music in an attempt to break down barriers between musical genres. Opera singer Rolando Villazón, star violinist Lisa Batiashvili and soprano Fatma Said also appear in the line-up.
Luxembourg's Tali will be performing her song "Fighter", fresh from appearing at the Eurovision Song Contest in May, where she hopes to achieve success as part of the Grand Duchy's return to the competition after a 30-year-absence. Tali won the public and jury vote in January's pre-selection at the Luxembourg Song Contest and recently released the official music video for her ESC entry.
Another familiar face is Irish singer Ronan Keating, who is to be honoured with the European Cultural Prize for his work on "The Voice of Germany", as well as his charity commitments over the years. The former Boyzone star will also perform alongside the Luxembourg Philharmonic Orchestra for the first time, revisiting his solo hits "When You Say Nothing At All" and "If Tomorrow Never Comes".
Other nominees expected to be honoured on the night are Grand Duchess Maria Teresa, fashion designer Stella McCartney, former President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and actress Ornella Muti.
