Laura Thorn, a passionate singer and music teacher from Luxembourg, is preparing to take the stage at the Luxembourg Song Contest on 25 January with her track La Poupée Monte Le Son, combining her musical expertise and disciplined fitness routine to deliver a standout performance.
For Laura Thorn, music has been a part of her life as long as she can remember, whether it be music theory classes or playing piano and cello. After already focusing on music in secondary education, she went on to further pursue her passion professionally by studying pop-singing, music theory, and musical pedagogy.
Aside from this solid musical background, Laura also knows how to stay in physical shape with regular workouts to be ready for the big stage, so our colleagues from RTL met up with her at the gym and at home. The ambitious singer believes her body to be a veritable instrument, so she aims to take good care of it, as exercising does not only improve her fitness but also permits her to deliver high-quality performances and work on her breathing.
Another important place for her is the conservatory in Esch-sur-Alzette, the music school in which she teaches music theory and singing. For now, the Luxembourg Song Contest (LSC) at Rockhal on 25 January is the main priority for Laura, with all her focus being poured into her song La Poupée Monte Le Son.
Laura's parents also play an immense part in her support system. Her mother accordingly warned Laura that as a public figure, she eventually would have to face negative criticism. "I drew her attention to this from the very first day and am always there for her when she needs me", says Laura's mother.
Although the LSC can be stressful at times, Laura stays positive. "I keep thinking, how cool, another opportunity, another interview. It is a lot of work but better than staying home and being bored", the young singer believes.
