Luxembourg's Eurovision finalist Laura Thorn says she is proud of her performance despite finishing 22nd in the grand final, calling the experience another "emotional roller coaster" and a personal success.

Luxembourg's Eurovision finalist Laura Thorn says she is proud of her performance at this year's contest, although she placed 22nd in the grand final. Speaking to RTL just after the show, Thorn admitted she had hoped for more but stressed that reaching the final had always been her main goal.

"We expected more, I'll be completely honest, but I'm still not disappointed", she said. Thorn added that whether she finished 5th or 22nd would not have changed anything for her personally, though a higher spot might have given her ego a slight boost.

She described the evening as another "emotional roller coaster" and said she was glad to have performed early in the lineup, allowing her to relax and enjoy the show from excellent seats in the Green Room. Despite the result, she said she and her team were "extremely proud" of their performance, highlighting strong vocals, choreography, and stage presence.

Thorn added that it was more important to be happy with their own performance than to achieve a higher rank but feel unsatisfied. "We put on a great show", she said.

Following the show, she also received congratulations from Belgian singer Red Sebastian, who did not qualify for the final but was present to support Thorn in person.

Austria's JJ won the 2025 contest in Basel with his operatic techno ballad Wasted Love, earning 436 points and securing Austria's first victory since 2014. The 24-year-old Austrian-Filipino singer captivated audiences with a black-and-white performance blending high-register vocals and techno beats.

The night saw Israel finish second amid protests, Estonia third, and Sweden fourth despite pre-show favouritism. Highlights included wild stage shows, political tension, and a surprise no-show from Celine Dion.
