The suspense is over: RTL can now confirm Luxembourg's participation in the next Eurovision Song Contest (ESC).

Following JJ's victory in Basel with Wasted Love, the Eurovision Song Contest 2026 will be held in Austria. Several cities – including Vienna, Innsbruck, Oberwart, and Wels – have already expressed interest in hosting the event, scheduled for mid-May. The host city is set to be officially announced on 8 August.

The 2025 edition broke viewership records, drawing an audience of 166 million. After the amazing performances by Luxembourg’s Tali and Laura Thorn, the search is now on for the Grand Duchy’s next Eurovision representative.

As in previous years, the song representing Luxembourg will be selected through a national competition – the Luxembourg Song Contest, held at the Rockhal and organised by RTL.

Details on how to apply will be made public in the coming weeks.
