Shortly after 12.30pm on Tuesday, the allocation of countries for the Eurovision Song Contest (ESC) semi-finals, set to take place on 13 and 15 May 2025, was determined.
Luxembourg’s representative, Laura Thorn, will perform in the second semi-final, specifically during the second half of the show. The draw, hosted in Basel, decided the placement of all participants for the semi-finals.
Jennifer Bosshard and Jan van Ditzhuijzen conducted the draw, which randomly assigned 31 countries to compete across the two semi-final dates.
The “Big Five” countries – Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, and Spain – along with Switzerland as the host nation, automatically qualify for the final. However, the draw also determined which semi-final their respective audiences could vote in.

Alongside the draw, a traditional ceremony took place in which Malmö, the organiser of the 2024 contest, handed over the “Host City insignia pass” to Basel, the host city for ESC 2025.
